KOEGEL 6612982 140mm black side sealing profile
GREY SEALING STRIP – KOEGEL RAIN DEFLECTOR RUBBER
Grey technical rubber gasket (rain deflector) for Kögel semi-trailer systems
The grey rubber seal for Kögel semi-trailers, also known in the industry as a rain deflector profile, is an essential structural element for commercial vehicles with sliding tarpaulins (curtain sider systems). This gasket plays a critical role in diverting water flow and protecting cargo against dust, moisture, and drafts while the vehicle is in motion. It is installed along the upper and edge profiles of the bodywork, ensuring a perfectly sealed fit of the side curtain against the frame. Thus, the gasket prevents water from entering the cargo space, improves the assembly's aerodynamics, reduces friction-related wear on the tarpaulin material, and enhances the overall airtightness of the semi-trailer.
Main features
-
Product type: Profiled rubber gasket / Rain deflector seal for roof and sides
-
Brand compatibility: KÖGEL semi-trailers and compatible superstructures
-
Color: Grey (standardized color range for discreet aesthetic integration)
-
Material: High-quality technical rubber (EPDM/elastomer), resistant to freezing and aging
-
Purpose: Side curtain sealing and optimal rainwater diversion (rain deflector)
-
Installation: Manual or using specific tools, by pressing into the guide groove / on the aluminum frame
-
Length: Supplied by the roll or by the meter (according to order specifications)
-
Temperature resistance: From -40 °C to +80 °C (retains elastic properties)
Advantages of using the Kögel rubber rain deflector seal:
-
Superior sealing and efficient water diversion: The specially designed profile stops infiltrations in critical corners of the superstructure, ensuring that cargo (pallets, boxes, or equipment) remains completely dry and clean, regardless of the severity of weather conditions on the road.
-
Optimal elasticity and UV resistance: The premium grey technical rubber retains its shape, geometric memory, and flexibility even in conditions of severe freezing or summer heat on the highway. The product does not crack, become brittle, or fade under the action of sunlight.
-
Perfect compatibility with Kögel structures: Manufactured to respect the Kögel manufacturer's factory standards, the seal fits ideally onto the metal profile of the semi-trailer, eliminating the risk of play or the need for additional trimming.
-
Simple and fast installation: No complex or expensive equipment is needed to install the gasket – the profile is simply inserted into the guide rails, pressed evenly, and begins to perform its protective function from the very first second.
Where is the Kögel rain deflector rubber seal used?
-
On Kögel semi-trailers, trailers, and trucks with curtainsider systems;
-
In the upper area and the joint between the side curtain and the longitudinal profiles of the body roof;
-
In demanding environments with high humidity, industrial dust, extreme temperature variations, and corrosive agents (road salt).
In domestic and international cargo transport where rigorous sealing against the elements is required;
Who is it intended for? (Target audience)
-
Fleet owners, transport managers, and Kögel semi-trailer administrators;
-
Logistics companies, freight forwarders, and road freight transport firms;
-
Truck service centers, tarpaulin repair shops, and industrial bodybuilders;
-
Distributors of spare parts, components, and hardware for tarpaulins and commercial vehicles;
-
Professional drivers responsible for the routine maintenance of their semi-trailers.
Why is a quality gasket important?
-
Effective protection against the elements: Protects cargo against damage caused by water, preventing cargo rejection at the destination.
-
Preserving commercial value: Maintains a clean environment inside, including protecting the mechanical and metal components of the roof against corrosion.
-
Aerodynamic and acoustic optimization: Attenuates curtain flapping and noises caused by air turbulence at high speeds, indirectly contributing to optimizing fuel consumption.
-
Professional aesthetic appearance: The grey color gives the road vehicle a clean, modern, sealed, and well-maintained visual aspect.
Signs of wear indicating immediate replacement:
-
Appearance of cracks, local tears, or visible stiffening of the technical rubber;
-
Water entering the semi-trailer in case of rain or traces of moisture on the pallets in the upper area;
-
Visible gaps (slots) between the top edge of the tarpaulin and the bodywork;
-
Deformation of the tarpaulin after closing or vertical tensioning;
-
Foreign noises (hissing, flapping of the tarpaulin against the profile) while driving on the highway.
-
Note: If at least two of these symptoms are present, the Kögel rain deflector seal should be replaced immediately to avoid compromising the transported goods.
Simple installation guide:
-
Remove the old, worn, deformed, or torn gasket from the guide channel.
-
Carefully clean and degrease the aluminum profile (rail) of dust, dirt, rust, or old rubber residue.
-
Insert the new grey gasket evenly into the groove, following the line of the profile.
-
Ensure the seal is positioned correctly along the entire length, without twists, folds, or abnormal tensioning.
-
If necessary, press and fix it firmly along the guide using a soft rubber mallet or a special installation roller.
